The history of the Global Investment Leaders Club
In 2016, in Dubai, in lavish 7-star Burj Al Arab hotel, the first Private Investment Forum Worldwide was held. Large investors and heads of single-family offices, who deeply care about mankind and making the world a better place, gathered there. They conversed and exchanged ideas for 3 days, and, as the result of their thoughtful resolution, several of the most active and respected investors decided on the need to create an exclusive place for direct communication of investment leaders. Therefore, by the initiative of the group of large international investors, it was decided to use the Global Investment Leaders Club format for conducting regular face-to-face investors meetings. During international meetings in Dubai and Switzerland, the formats and rules for investors participation in the Club meetings were formed and agreed upon. The Club has become a safe and neutral business place not lobbying any interests of investment or financial groups.
Between 2017 and 2022, more than 10 major physical Club’s gatherings in the Middle East and Europe and more than 100 virtual events took place. Thanks to the active participation and cordial support of good, and successful heads of the single-family offices it was possible to create a unique meeting format that gives all participants a sense of unity, understanding, mutual support and brings effective solutions to all their tasks.
How does Legacy card benefits the leaders of SFOs and their family members?
Heads of the single family offices and their family members use Legacy card to take part in all the gatherings designed only for the leaders of the single family offices. There they discuss synergies, share insights and find solutions to their challenges. These closed-door discussions among several single family offices bring generations closer, enable the networking of the next gens and serve as a nice addition for the preparation of the heirs.
We understand the importance of forming powerful connections and caution in choosing them. That is why we have a rigorous approach to curating the Club single family offices community and designing a well tailored program of their participation.
Leaders of the SFOs can:
– Expand their family businesses, find strategic partners and co-investors;
– Build strong bonds of trust while socialising with fellow leaders of SFOs;
– Introduce the heirs to the members of other SFOs and widen their strategic social circle thus genuinely engaging them in the FO matters;
The family members can:
– Participate in the Family Table events and bond within their own family office;
– Socialise with peers enhancing and strengthening the family network;
– Build relationships with the members of other families…
What the SFOs members say about the Club?
Craig Astill, the CEO of Australia based single family office ‘Caason Group’
“We’re primarily involved in direct investment in the agricultural sector, technologies associated with the agricultural sector, mining, tech, environmental technologies, and as a family office, certainly with exposure to it. Having been a member of the Club for over a year now, I certainly have found it to be a wonderful networking opportunity. It provides me with a great ability to meet like-minded family offices from various parts of the world. I believe, we may not have been to meet so easily if not being involved and participating in the Club gatherings on a very regular basis. So, certainly we are encouraging other SFOs to enjoy the benefits behind being a Club member.”
Guneet Banga, the Executive Director of a SFO Caravel Group Limited, Hong Kong.
“We have a family private conglomerate that traditionally has been involved in shipping, logistics, commodity trading. Sustainability is absolutely crucial to our business. Being a member of the Club has just been a fantastic experience for me to meet interesting new people from other SFOs. It has also been phenomenal in terms of my own growth and network connections. I’ve made some valuable links with people I’m going to work with next year. This Club is fantastic because of the great people here, this place is so special, because here we connect on a human level.”
Joshua McClure, the president of a single family office, Ingenuitas.
“Apart from managing my family’s legacy my family office helps to ensure that our resources are being applied “to create health for the world. I always look forward to the Club gatherings; it is a very exclusive group of investors gathered with curated care. The Club’s team puts so much work into making sure that the one-on-one meetings are appropriately matched and that only the highest quality people that are interested in changing the world in a very positive way are here. I the Club is a group of people that are truly looking out for this planet and managing their capital, not for their egos, but for impact and for leaving a sustainable planet to the next generation.”
